Hate crimes in Iran
DC Democrat has been raising awareness of a viscious attack on two young gay men in Iran in Daily Kos. Worth reading.
In a recent update, DC Dem writes: "A number of people in the comments have expressed concern that we play into the Neocons' hands by protesting injustice in Iran. Please know that I have no interest in the realpolitik of the macro-situation to which some have alluded. For me, this story is about two boys who quietly lived their lives and minded their own business but whose very existence seemed intolerable to people who had the power to destroy them. Let's be outraged despite George Bush and Iran. Let's be outraged simply for Mahmoud and Ayaz and thousands in Iran and other places who live in fear to be who they are."
