In Cuba and Venezuela Ahmadinejad's tirades against "imperialism" are feted on the state news channels (on every station in the case of Cuba), just as Slobodan Milosevic was lionised on Cuban telivision a little over 10 years ago. It would seem for the left that you can be practically any kind of monster, so long as you're an anti-American monster.

Yes of course. I consider myself on "the left" but am appalled by that kind of stuff.

Were you to argue though that it was only a minority of the left that indulged in this behaviour then I wouldn't necessarily be so quick to agree.
