Reform antisemites in the Northwest

This month saw the launch of the "Reform Jewish Alliance" at the the Central synagogue in London, with Nigel Farage as the main speaker, introduced by Alan Mendoza, the executive director of the Henry Jackson Society, and a councillor who defected from the Conservatives to become Reform’s adviser on global affairs. This despite a massive quantity of credible allegations against Farage of a long history of antisemitism, for which he has failed to apologise.

Meanwhile, at the party's grassroots, antisemitism thrives. Amidst a wider pattern of conspiracy theories, "Analysis by HOPE not hate, shared with local newspaper the Manchester Mill, has found that Goodwin has been campaigning alongside racists and far-right activists in his bid to win the seat." Here are some gems from the HnH investigation:

Adam Mitula

Matt Goodwin with Adam Mitula

Adam Mitula has been involved in Goodwin’s campaign, appearing at canvassing sessions and in the local Reform office. He is Reform’s interim campaign manager in Tameside, the metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester in which Denton is located, and has made racist comments on X (formerly Twitter).

As well as having used the n-word in a post on 21 August 2024, he has engaged in Holocaust minimisation.

Discussing the number of people who died in the Holocaust in July 2024, Mitula claimed: “6 million polish [sic] people including some Jews. They always use Poles to make up the number. And on top of it they claim Poles were killing. Just sick.” Mitula was responding to a post which read: “I’m sure something happens but even as a Jew you know 6 million is a number they made up before WW2”.

Elsewhere, Mitula has said, “I wouldn’t touch a Jewish woman,” and declared that someone should be removed from X for having an Israeli flag in their bio, as the country is a “fascist aggressor”.

Mitula also uses the word gay as an insult and baselessly suggested, on 23 July 2024, that “60-70%” of transgender people are paedophiles.

Unsurprisingly, given these views, Mitula is a fan of the violent misogynist, homophobe, and racist Andrew Tate. As well as having promoted several of his posts, Mitula has told him to “stay strong bro” and, when asked to describe him in one word, responded: “Respect”.

Lorenzo More

First elected in May 2025, Lorenzo More is one of Reform’s councillors in Lancashire and has been out campaigning for Goodwin.

We can reveal that he has voiced hateful anti-Muslim views on social media. Using X on 27 April 2024, More responded to a post which read: “Why do Muslims insist on moving to non-muslim countries and then complain that they find OUR way of life offensive. Why not remain in a MUSLIM country where their way of life is the norm?” More wrote: “they are not here to integrate but to conquer, wake up!!”

Additionally in April 2023, he called London Mayor Sadiq Khan an “Assface” in response to a post by Paul Golding, leader of the extreme anti-Muslim political party Britain First, asking his followers to “DESCRIBE THIS ISLAMIST IN ONE WORD”.

In YouTube comments, More has also voiced anti-Muslim views.

It’s not only More’s anti-Muslim hatred which raises serious concerns. In September 2023, he responded “Well done!” on X to someone who had made the following misogynistic post: “Feminists don’t realize that they only have a voice because men let them. Want to be treated as equals? It won’t end well”.

On the same social media platform, he has promoted posts by a variety of far-right figures, including Paul GoldingLaurence Fox (leader of the far-right Reclaim Party), Carl Benjamin (a far-right misogynistic influencer), and Tommy Robinson.

Jacqui Harris

Jacqui Harris, the chair of Reform’s Kenilworth and Southam branch, has been seen canvassing for Goodwin.

Harris stood for Reform in the 2024 general election and became the subject of controversy, after the Campaign Against Antisemitism found she had promoted a number of posts comparing the modern state of Israel to Nazi Germany.

As Sky News reported, in March 2019 she said a post, which claimed allegations of antisemitism against Jeremy Corbyn were “a false flag, probably masterminded by mossad/cia”, was “spot on”.

In December that year, she also liked and shared a post which suggested Donald Trump is an Israeli “puppet”. The post linked to an article which claimed: “All the credible, independent, and objective evidence proves that Israel and the United States were behind 9/11. Despite the fact that the Zionist controlled US mainstream media simply ignores all the evidence.”

Harris was previously a Conservative councillor and was suspended from the party in 2019 amid allegations of antisemitism. She was later cleared, before being suspended again in 2020.

Kelly Cooling

Another who has taken to Gorton and Denton’s streets to campaign for Goodwin is Kelly Cooling.

In August, Cooling joined a protest in Altrincham, where she sported a Britain First rosette. Britain First is a far-right, anti-Muslim political party, the co-leader of which, Ashlea Simon, is an ethnonationalist who calls herself “Pro-White and proud”.

On X, Cooling has promoted far-right content. She has, for instance, shared posts praising Tommy Robinson, such as one from November 2024 which trumpeted “his unwavering love for his country and its people”, before saying he “stood up for every one of us who believes in freedom”.
