On attacking Iran (reposted, with the links this time), plus Lewisham blogger stuff

I totally failed to put in the two key hyperlinks on this post, to the publicansdecoy piece, making it slighly incomprehensible

publicansdecoy (who I failed to meet at the Lewisham bloggers meet-up last week, which I couldn't make) on the allegedly imminent US attack on Iran. Good stuff.

Maybe I am just one of those sinister neo-cons, but I have a hard time believing Iran will simply halt its nuclear weapons program. Iran obtaining it would be completely rational on their part, and would definitely make an attack on their country more difficult. Why wouldn’t they want to get it?

And the report I read also states that US intelligence does not know whether Iran "intends to develop nuclear weapons", but that Iran would be unlikely to achieve nuclear weapons "capability before 2013 because of foreseeable technical and programmatic problems".
