Staple Singers: Cottonfields/This Land
As I seem to be very slow in following up Andrew's domestic management meme, I'm posting a link to the absolutely wonderful Joe de Vivre audioblog, and, specifically, as I know he is a Staples fan, a post which has two zingers from the Staple Singers, "Cottonfields" and "This Land". In fact, more or less every track is fantastic. Jogo might particularly like the song by the under-rated Syl Johnson.
Previously on Bobfrombrockley: Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham, Funky Woody Guthrie, Is it coz I'm black? (featuring Syl Johnson), Clash of fundamentalisms 1 (the backbeat) and 2 (Swan Silvertone).
