East End anarchism/radical history

Following on from the Rudolf Rocker and Eleanor Marx stuff I posted, here's some more East End radical history and radical present:

• Ian Bone: Daily Mail and the cops attack Peter The Painter and his Tower Hamlets legacy. (Here's Bone's first post on this, about his Resonance FM programme on Peter the Painter. And here [pdf, p.6], from the Kate Sharpley Library, is a text version of the story.)
  
• Whitechapel Anarchist Group: newly formed group with cool freesheet and blog
• October means the Anarchist Book Fair, this year in the East End. One of the highlights include an appearance by veteran Jewish anti-fascist Morris Beckman of the 43 Group. Principia Dialectica have a session. I quite like the sound of this too: Bouganville, Bolivia, Bogata or Bermondsey, Birmingham, Blackburn with Ian Bone and Martin Wright: "A hard-hitting look at the dilemma facing Anarchists/Activists today. Whether to support movements in distant lands or to gear up for the bitter struggles and confrontations that will emerge here once the economic and political crisis starts to bite. Are we up for it?
